I started running this fall. I’d been feeling kind of crappy about things in my life and decided to go out and make positive changes for myself. One of the big things I decided to do was to get more exercise. I’ve had a lifetime of not being very active. I love going on really long walks but haven’t done anything to up my heart rate or get real aerobic exercise. With encouragement of my roommate I started working on the couch to 5k program. I just ran for 22 minutes before writing this and I feel really good now.

The best thing about running is that you can listen to any kind of upbeat music that you want, even the stuff you would normally scoff at. I choose to listen to all sorts of pop music that anyone I knew would probably tease me for mercilessly. And it feels great!
